Description: Installed in lands of the Blue Water Park, this house considers object protect, conserve and impel the Jalicienses crafts. In the Institute of the Jalisciense Craft could be acquired an extensive range of crafts how they are: Ceramic pottery, blown Glass, some fabrics and unraveled; we also found brass articles, paper "maché" and silver jewelry, as well as carved in wood and bone, Huichol art, wrought iron and "metalistería" of Tlaquepaque and Sayula, "talabartería" of Colotlán, Cd. Guzman, Guadalajara and Ajijic; figures of chiqle of Talpa, etc.

Description: The City Museum is located in a XVIIIth century house that used to be part of the Capuchinas Convent, who established themselves there in 1761. The building was used for several purposes until 1991, when it was bought by the Municipality of Guadalajara presided by the Mayor Gabriel Covarrubias Ibarra. It was totally restored and remodeled to be used as a Museum and host the History of the City from the XVIth century to our days. The Museum was inaugurated on February 14, 1992 for the 450th Anniversary of the Guadalajara Foundation. It has 8 rooms where we can see the way the city has developed through the years.

Description: Our city saw the development of three illustrious "Jaliscienses": Jesus López Portillo y Serrano, Jesús López Portillo y Rojas and José López Portillo y Weber. The project and construction of this house dates back to the end of the XVIIIth century. The original façade was in Baroque style, but during the Mexican Revolution it was changed to French Neoclassic style. In the windows you can appreciate the letters J.L.P. that are considered one of the most important families in the city. This house-museum means a great effort in preserving the properties that, for their architecture and history, deserved to be classified as relics of the past. The house was the property of its masters up to 1981, when it was acquired by the city council. Presently, there are music concerts, literature, conferences, and different kinds of exhibitions. Music workshops for children and teenagers are given; and for adults a choir.

Description: Located on the north side of the Basílica of Zapopan, it offers a permanent sample of handcrafts made by this ethnic group to the visitor. Exhibition and sales of: shirts, shorts, bags (morrales), skirts, blouses, necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and small sequin bags. Also, masks carved in wood and pictures with daily scenes of the rural life of this ethnic group.

Description: Located in the area of the Agua Azul Park. This building has the shape of a truncated pyramid and it was inaugurated in 1959. At the left side entrance on the wall is a painting "The State of Jalisco Map" with the most important archeological sites. It also has a small, but authentic, dress collection from those civilizations that inhabited Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit, and Valle de Atemajac, mostly. The museum has five rooms and the pieces are distributed in geographical zones. Coming from Colima, the famous fat dog features; and from the anthropomorphous figures, the best pieces are the humpbacks. Its plates distinguish Nayarit with white, red and orange color decoration. In Jalisco, the red and black over red ceramic, stands out. Curses on Saturday for the public. Summer curses for kids and adults of nahuatl language.

Description: In this same place, before the quarry, stained windows, and dog sculptures house existed, the first printing house of the city was here, where "El Despertador Americano", considered the first independent newspaper of America, was printed. The owner of the business was Mr. José Fructo Romero, successor of Mariano Valdéz Téllez -Girón, who established the first printing shop in Guadalajara by the end of 1792. The building has two floors with a quarry and neoclassic style façade. On the first floor is the entrance and it has four rectangular windows, and on the second one, there are four small windows and a central window larger than the others. On the top, there are two huge dog sculptures. Inaugurated in 1994 as a museum, it shows a review of the journalism in Guadalajara, picture exhibitions, paintings and a library, open to the public with information about journalism, radio, cinema and television with a wide compilation of the newspapers from Guadalajara.

Description: Inside it we can find a great amount of fossils found in the western region of México, and that come mostly from the lake of Chapala and the beaches of Zacoalco, and wich are part of the colection owned by Ing. Federico A. Solorzano Barreto, who began collection the more than half a century ago. The exhibition has mainly mammals from the miocene, pliocene and pleistocene eras. In this place there are fragments of antelopes, horses, pumas, sable-teeth tigers, mammoths, among others; together with evidence left by the first settlers in the fauna of the tertiary and quaternary periods. This very valuable heritage is under the care of the Museum which as an investigation center promotes to study paleonthology through a discipline that tells us about the changes that happened around us throughout the years, divided 7 sectionsm so that each piece of it is found in adequate surroundign in order to offer the scientific information and becomes interesting for its educational value. It has tour on Tuesday to Sunday 11:00, 12:30, 16:40 hours. Video projection Saturday and Sunday 12:30, 13:30, 15:00 hours.

Description: Inaugurated in 1988, it consist of 2 plants. Description: The Museum Raul Anguiano was inaugurated the 2nd of June of 2003. Built on a surface approximated of 1,200 m2 where works like graphs, oils, sculptures, carpets, drawings and pieces in ceramics are exhibited. It has an area dedicated to the children called < Sala Niño Anguiano "Young Anguiano Hall" > that wakes up in the children the love for the art through the workshops that have different artistic disciplines for them. Also with a multiple uses room uses for conferences, courses, videos projections, concerts etc., and one for temporary exhibitions for national and foreign plastic arts. In summer there is free courses by ASTRAE, during 3 weeks.

Description: Founded in 1954 in a beautiful residence of the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries that belonged to the rich and famous farmer Francisco Velarde, nicknamed the "The Golden Donkey" born in La Barca, who became General in the Government of Santa Anna and was shot for supporting the second empire. Nowadays it preserves and exhibits the most traditional Ceramic from the Valley of Atemajac, as well as some of the winner pieces at the National Ceramic Award Fair.

Description: Regional Museum of Guadalajara installed in the old San José Seminar. It was inaugurated in 1758. The colonial house is a tourist and cultural attraction of great quality by itself. During the Independence War it was destinated for a military headquarter. Inside the building you can find various interesting archaeological pieces and some works of art of various authors in those which the Villalpando and José Ibarra paintings are extraordinary. One of the rooms keeps a mural of José Guadalupe Zuno devoted to recall the "Nueva Galicia Conquest" by Nuño de Guzmán. Also we can admire the chapel in this old building. In the Paleonthology room you can find a complete skeleton of a mammoth, and a reproduction of a tomb (tumba de tiro) which was characteristic of Western Mexico.

Description: This building was constructed in 1918 when General Manuel M. Diéguez was governor of Jalisco. The situation of the State of Jalisco changed with a liberal government and they thought that it was necessary to cultivate not only the land but also the mind of the authorities that were in charge of guiding the people. It was founded the way it looks now on October 12, 1925 being governor of the state José Guadalupe Zuno. The building has the form of a cross with middle point arches. On the upper part and all around the building there are balaustrades in French renaissance style. Next to the Rectory there are other offices and the "Deans Gallery". Right now it is a Museum of the Arts, founded in 1995, and it has 5 large rooms. Inside the main room you can find two murals of José Clemente Orozco, The "Hombre Pentafásico" and "The Country and its False Leaders" (El Pueblo y sus Falsos Líderes).

Description: The construction of this house was under the supervision of the Arch. González Górtazar during 1944-1945, on request of the best painter and artist from Jalisco: José Clemente Orozco. After his death in 1951, the family of this artist donated the house, which was his working place during his stay in the capital of Jalisco, while he worked for the local Government. Currently, in this house you can see several paintings, lithographs, photographs and others exhibitions in different periods of the year.
