Description: Computer Clubhouse is educational model outside of schools that provides an atmosphere of creative and sure learning in which children and young of scarce economic resources, leaning for mature assistants, explores their own ideas, developing abilities and self-esteem. Give services to children and youngs between 10 and 18 years of age. The service is completely gratuitous.

Description: This building corresponds to the Jesuit school of Santo Tomás de Aquino, founded in 1591. When the Jesuits were thrown out from the New Spain by orders of Charles III, the headquarters of the First University of Guadalajara settled down here in 1792. In 1937 the local government sells the Convent and only remains the Ex-Church, with its neoclassical façade added at the beginning of the XIXth century and its monumental dome. It was inaugurated as a Library in July 1991, in the first Iberoamerican Summit. To the right side of the door, a wall of marble with the legend referring to the history of the building and foundation of the library, to which all the presidents of the countries in Latin America attended. To the right side of the aisle, the Chapel of Loreto is located, nowadays destined to temporary exhibitions of painting, sculpture, picture and other cultural events. They have a special area for blind people.

Description: Inaugurated inside the Center of the International Friendship, with the attendance of the Teacher Agustín Yáñez, May 15 of 1979, in 1984 was carried out the change to the Unit of Municipal Services of the Atlas colony, fusing with the library Mariano Otero located in the Rosario. The services that offer are: open bookcase, internal consultation and external loan; orientation to users; photocopied and periodic publications. The permanent activities that are carried out are: projection of film, infantile and cultural movies; hour of the story; circle of reading; guided visits.

Description: Inaugurated on June 12, 1999 by the President at the time Ernesto Zedillo, it relies on 40 thousand books and documents relative to the history of the Army and Air Mexican Force, as well as materials of general interest for the population. In the conformation of this cultural space, there collaborated actively the Secretary of Public Education and the Secretary of the National Defense, with the intention of supporting the educational and cultural activities in the state. There can be visited the rooms of Internet, reading, for consultations; an infantile room, as well as the audience, the mapoteca and the videoteca. It relies on material in braile system.

Description: It was founded in 1949 by the Informative and Cultural Service of the United States; its array of books, magazines, cards and audio-visual material served and it continues serving to extend the knowledge it brings over of the United States. In the year 2000, the ambassador at the time of the United States, Jeffrey Davidow, inaugurated his current location in the University Economic Center of Administrative Sciences, of University of Guadalajara. It offers books and material that were donated in its entirety by the American embassy in Guadalajara. It relies on material in English, Spanish and French, as well as an infantile section. Description: Previously, in the building was finding the Chapel of the Precious Blood, but in 1978 it turned into warehouse of books of the Department of Public Education of the Government of the State and two years later it worked as headquarters of the offices of the Direction of Primary of the Secretary of Education. In 1981 there was restored the ex-chapel by the intention of sheltering to the Central Library and of Pedagogic Sciences, which it is inaugurated by the name of " Teacher Ramon García Ruiz ", emphasized educator and civil servant and the one who promoted the creation of the same one. The library possesses three principal lounges: Room of consultation: it integrates the materials of internal consultation, since dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlas, almanacs, as well as periodic publications. There are 30 equipments of calculation, with service of free Internet and consultation of materials multimedia. General room: here all the materials of lending to domicile. Also the videoteca is located by audio-visual materials. Infantile room: it integrates books for children, array of consultation, area of didactic games and two equipments of calculation for use of materials multimedia. Audience: it is in use for multiple uses, as projection of video analysis, programmed or requested events.

Description: The Historical File, documented permanent of the University. In February of 1993, in response to a proposal of the general rector Lic. Raúl Padilla López, the General University Council approved the creation of a historical file. The objectives of this dependence were centralizing the significant information, preserve it (physic and electrical), reproduce it, impel the historical investigation of the institution and permit the access, of an agile and expedite form to the interested. It decided that the headquarters out the Zuno House, a wide property located in the ends of the "Rosa Zone." The file physically is divided in two sections. The first has documents of the University of Guadalajara: proceedings of the University General Council of 1925 to 1965, university agreements, etc. The second section has the information of the previous institutions to the official foundation of the University of Guadalajara: the Real and Literary University from Guadalajara.

Description: In this same place, before the quarry, stained windows, and dog sculptures house existed, the first printing house of the city was here, where "El Despertador Americano", considered the first independent newspaper of America, was printed. The owner of the business was Mr. José Fructo Romero, successor of Mariano Valdéz Téllez -Girón, who established the first printing shop in Guadalajara by the end of 1792. The building has two floors with a quarry and neoclassic style façade. On the first floor is the entrance and it has four rectangular windows, and on the second one, there are four small windows and a central window larger than the others. On the top, there are two huge dog sculptures. Inaugurated in 1994 as a museum, it shows a review of the journalism in Guadalajara, picture exhibitions, paintings and a library, open to the public with information about journalism, radio, cinema and television with a wide compilation of the newspapers from Guadalajara.

Description: The State Public Library was founded in 1874, but in 1975 changed its see to the current building next to "Casa de la Cultura Jalisciense". The library consists of more than 100,000 tomes. Because of the earthquake on 2003 the library changes his addres to the building Chalita. In the dome of the reading hall, there is a mural, which is the first work of Gabriel Flores in 1958. The mural honors the philosophers of Jalisco and to the entrance of the reading room the titled "The printing in Jalisco" work of José María Servín. The library offer us the opportunity to admire temporary plastic arts exhibitions in the three galleries, besides observing the mural to the oil of the painting Mario Medina.

Description: The history of this Institution are in the private observatory of the Engineer Gabriel Castaños and the one that operateded in the "Escuela Libre de Ingenieros de Guadalajara" (Free Engineers School from Guadalajara). This last opened up at the request of the Society of Engineers of Jalisco; on April 2nd of 1889 denominating it "Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory of the State." The Observatory was founded in 1926 by the Priest Severo Díaz Galindo and it was donated to the University of Guadalajara as the Astronomic and Meteorological Investigation Institute. Nowadays, it helps the community by forecasting and explaining about natural phenomena, also by giving support and information to private companies that require it. The tower is no longer in use due to the city's rapid growth that disables its activities; it is currently being enabled as a museum to which the public in general will be able to attend to.
